Nancy Harvey, LMSW

Nancy Harvey was appointed Executive Director of SPOP in 1990 and became CEO in 2014. She is responsible for overall agency management including finances, human resources, fundraising, and program development.  Prior to this position Ms. Harvey was the Acting Executive Director for the Jamaica Service Program for Older Adults and the former Director of the JSPOA Friendship Center.  She received her Masters of Social Work at the State University of New York at Albany and her B.A. at the State University of New York, New Paltz.

Catherine Thurston, LCSW

Catherine Thurston oversees the SPOP Clinic, PROS/Personalized Recovery Oriented Services Program, Bereavement Support, community outreach and other program initiatives.  She has three decades of experience in geriatrics which includes serving as Chief Services Officer at SAGE/Service & Advocacy for GLBT Elders and as Director of Alzheimer’s Programs at the Cobble Hill Health Center. She received her Masters of Social Work from Hunter College School of Social Work.

Eeva J. Mikkola, MD
Medical Director

Dr. Eeva Mikkola received her medical degree (Licentiate in Medicine) from the Faculty of Medicine of Helsinki University, Finland.  She did her psychiatry residency and fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York.  She is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both general psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry.  She is fluent in English, Spanish, Finnish and Swedish.

Stephen Beramsingh

Stephen Beramsingh has over 10 years of experience specializing in team management, hardware risk management, and infrastructure operations in for-profit and non-profit settings.  He has particular expertise in network infrastructure, security compliance, and cyber risk prevention and remediation.  He is a graduate of DeVry University.

Arianne Dunstan-Halliday, LCSW

Arianne Dunstan-Halliday manages SPOP’s Intake Department and oversees all referrals and admissions.  She is a graduate of the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and has over nine years of experience working in aging and mental health.

Jessica Fertig, MA, ATR-BC, LCAT

Jessica Fertig is a graduate of New York University and a board-certified and licensed Creative Art Therapist. She joined SPOP after working for the Office of Mental Health at Bronx Psychiatric Center. Jessica enjoys providing workshops and trainings about ethical considerations and trauma-informed practices in the creative arts field.

Johnny Lee

Johnny Lee oversees all financial budgeting reporting, and analysis for the agency. He has over 30 years’ experience in financial management in the nonprofit and for-profit sectors.

Janet Rosenberg

Janet Rosenberg manages all external communications and donor relations, including foundation, corporate, government and individual support.  Her previous experience includes annual and capital fund raising at the Council on Foreign Relations, The Newark Museum, and DOROT.  

Teresa Theophano, LCSW

Teresa Theophano oversees community-based mental health services at satellite clinics supported by the NYC Department for the Aging’s Geriatric Mental Health (DGMH) program.  She has over 15 years’ experience in social work with LGBTQ communities, most recently at SAGE: Advocacy and Services for LGBTQ Elders, and is a certified SAGECare trainer. Teresa is a graduate of Hunter College School of Social Work.

Alexandra Webb, LCSW

Alexandra Webb oversees educational, rehab and recovery programs. Allie is a graduate of Columbia University School of Social Work and has spent her career supporting adults with an experience of serious mental illness. She joined the SPOP staff in 2016 as Assistant Director of PROS; she formerly worked within the city’s public hospital system in psychiatric emergency and inpatient programs.  She has a particular interest in quality and choice of services for aging communities.

Geordana Weber, LCSW

Geordana Weber oversees the Behavioral Health Clinic at SPOP, including program development, day-to-day operations, and staff training and supervision.  She has 18 years’ experience providing and supervising community mental health and family services, including community-based volunteer programs for older adults through NYC Department for the Aging and mental health treatment programs in non-traditional sites.  She is a graduate of Hunter College School of Social Work.
